The elements were against us. All of them. Bright sunshine to burn the skin, wind to tear at the newly hung tar paper, rain to make the deck slick, hail to pelt us on our heads. It was all that this past Saturday. The sun teased us into thinking what a great day to install windows it would be. Only half way into this project would the weather reveal its true intentions. Hail, lots of it, more than I'd ever seen, covered the deck and conspired to make our task most difficult. The temperature dropped, making hands protest the cold, protest the grip needed to handle large and expensive windows. But the window are in, and the kitchen has been transformed as the earth was once brought forth from darkness! Do I exaggerate? Perhaps, yet given the photographic evidence, I think you'll agree, view to the back yard: Priceless.
P.S. Guest helper dog Luna Cake is as fond of sawdust as resident Layla Pie.
