Christmas 2009 pt. 1

It always starts off well enough...

lots of parts, cryptic instructions....
the need for a very long screw driver...
a hammer...
an offer for help, declined...
some elbow grease...
some measure of success...

only to be outdone by the box!

Cherry Fest 09er

Beautiful weekend at the Stevenson Compound for "Cherry Fest 09er" this past weekend. Got some good tractor time in mowing some of the meadow, sans sunscreen as dirt from the mowing coated me from head to toe. Saturday the sun broke through and as guest started arriving around 12, the picking began. Tons of rug rats, or would they be lawn rats in this instance? Picking was probably at an all time low due to the constant monitoring of the lawn rats. Fine food and beer as always, and we even managed to squeeze in some skeet shooting at dusk. Sunday was an "epic" road ride of 36 rolling miles and even a summit "hors categorie" at Yamhill Winery where the green jersey went to Bucker. Myself and LSmith brought up the rears. Then rain. And that was it, fantastic weekend, here's some pics and a link.

Makin Bacon

The Church of Bacon! In order to protect her privacy, JW has been blurred. Its for your own safety JW, pictures of women with fresh strips of bacon drive men absolutely nuts. After a fine day of picking cherries and drinkin hooch by the fireside, we awoke to the church of bacon celebration. Brecherwrecker has made it through one more trip around the sun, and to celebrate the lovely JW erected this masterpiece of cholesterol. Not to be outdone, Jb erected the Vegetarian Church of Bacon. (VCoB). In other news, the guys made cherry juice. Pathetically, these are really about the only pics we have of CherryFest 08. I guess we were too busy up in the trees and sampling liquid refreshments.

Country Livin

Yeah, lets hang out and stare at the barn!

Amazing sunset. Pretty nice barn too.

Depth of Field

Dogpie demonstrating the amazing capabilities of the Canon Rebel XT. Since then we've decided we need a nice digital SLR. Still evaluating Canon vs. Nikon.
